What’s the difference between eco-friendly and non-eco-friendly Ganesh idols?
Here in India, we’ve seen god idols made from all sorts of materials, in all sorts of sizes and for all sorts of target demographics. Recently though, a new trend emerged due to a sudden increase in environmental concerns. This trend saw the emergence of Eco-friendly Ganesha idols in the marketplace for religion-based products.
Why did this trend of eco-friendly idols start with Ganesh idols? God knows. All I know is that these idols are slowly gaining popularity and that they will eventually start to phase out idols being made from metals and synthetic materials.
So, what is the main difference between the two?
Well, as you may have imagined, eco-friendly idols are made using all sorts of naturally occurring raw materials such as leaves, fruits, natural clay and more. Some idols that are made using natural clay even feature plant seeds within and come in pots so that they can be planted once used.
These raw materials are the complete opposite of commonly used materials such as brass, metal, acrylics and more. The before mentioned materials are by no means biodegradable and as a result, can be extremely harmful to the environment.
So now that eco-friendly idols are a thing, would you buy one? Let me know in the comments down below.
